Q: Can roommates pay different amounts?

A:  They sure can. Each roommate is listed as a separate tenant, giving you rent control from person to person.

Q: How many roommates can I split rent between?

A: You can split the rent between as many roommates as you wish.  Each roommate will just need to set up an individual account in order to set up their payments.

Q: Do you have any people to check on a property or tenant for me?

A: We are working on providing this service soon.  We will let you know as soon as we have this service launched.

Q: What happens if I want to break the lease early?

A:  Not a problem. Just go to your dashboard, and select the “remove tenant” button at the top of their profile. They will be removed from your property and will no longer be auto debited.

Q: Is it safe to put my banking information on Rentlit?

A: We’ve got you covered! Rentlit uses bank-level encryption throughout our site, and all sensitive data is stored in a PCI compliant system that is globally recognized. See the details here.

Q: What if I don’t have tenants yet? Can I still create a page for my property?

A: Of course!  We have set up RentLit specifically so you can create a profile and invite your tenants to join later.  And if that’s too complicated, they can just look up your property using the address once you’ve found one.  Just tell them to go to RentLit.com and create a tenant profile.

Q: Why does it cost $2.00?

A: We wish we could make it completely free, but we need to pay to process your payment, provide security for you and your tenant’s personal information, and pay our legal team to provide you with the most up to date lease documents possible.

Q: Do I have to create a new profile whenever I get a new tenant?

A: Nope.  Once you’ve set up a profile, we’ll keep all of your details on file for you to review.  We’ve even made a section that keeps a history of your past tenants, so you can reach back out to them if you want them to come back to your property!

Q: My property isn’t showing up in my profile. What do I do now?

A: Oops, this sounds like a glitch.  Reach out to us at support@rentlit.com and we’ll fix it ASAP.
